Kitsos, Shellhaas, Cornelius Take Top Spots at Glen Arven
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 05:41PM The first Red Hills event of 2012, at Glen Arven CC in Thomasville, GA, was led by some standout performances, notably that of Tallahassee's Alex Kitsos (Boys 15-18) who shot 75. Tallahassee's Eli Hendricks (78) and Bennett Baker (80) finished second and third, respectively. (Click here to view all final results).
Kyle Cornelius, Dothan, AL, took the Boys 11-12 Division with a solid 77, over Live Oak's Will Bozeman (82) and Tallahassee's Dylan Vause (90).
Albany's Ethan Shellhaas topped Tifton's Grant Metts on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Boys 13-14 Divison.
Patrick McCann, Tallahassee, won the Boys 9-10 with a 9-hole total of 41, beating out Thomasville's Sam Barrett (44) and Dothan's Brantley Scott (46).
Leading the Girls 15-18 Division were Tallahassee's Kolby McWilliams (95), over Vickie Kwak and Katy Hyland, Panama City. Thomasville's Karson Stone (87) won by two shots over Teresa Conroy of Tallahassee.
The Girls 11-12 Divison was led by Niceville's Caroline Craig (47) over Kaysie Harrelson, Tifton, and Mickela Helms, Tallahassee who both shot 48 to tie for second. Moultrie's Elizabeth Funderburk was third carding a 50.
Payton Elkins, Valdosta, shot 52 to lead the Girls 9-10 over Niceville's Katie Craig and Tifton's Alexandria Heard.
Boys and Girls 8 & Under Divison were won by Tallahassee's Aiden Ash and Valdosta's Reese Adams, respectively.
